Re the number of people opposed to the proposed Pavilion area redevelopment.

At least one Councillor seemed to infer that the only people objecting to it are those who either wrote letters to the Dorset Echo, who attended the original march, or were present at the adjourned Guildhall and subsequent Council meeting at The Pavilion Theatre.

No one I have spoken to is in favour of the project as it stands, and I wonder, as this is such an emotive issue and one of conscience, if some of the Councillors are truly aware at the depth of sincere resentment to it, or bother to care.

Maybe, if they would leave the beautifully sited Council offices (what a wonderful four star Hotel would replace that building) and visit their constituents, as they do when seeking election or re-election, and ask them for their opinions.

I would like the Pavilion area site to be for entertainment and leisure only (dream on).

It is obvious that any private enterprise should be able to make some profit but not with a scheme like the one proposed for Weymouth.

Please Councillors, do what is best for us and vote against the proposed plan in it's present form with those wretched Flats. If you are in favour of it please have the courtesy to resign and let someone with the town's interest more at heart take your place, or put the whole project on hold until by- elections are held.

On Howard Holding's web site there are two conflicting figures re number of flats and size of the marina.
