FIREFIGHTERS helped extinguish a fire involving the external refrigeration units at a shop in Bovington.
The incident happened yesterday afternoon at around 5.19pm.
Two crews from Wareham and Poole were called to Gaza Road, Bovington to reports of smoke at the rear of Londis.
The fire spread to the main building but was eventually put out by crews using a hose reel jet and the process of cutting away.
The fire was caused by carelessly discarded smoking materials.
The refrigeration unit was completely destroyed by the fire. Roof timbers and the shop itself suffered minor damage from the smoke and fire.
