GOOD causes and charities in Sturminster Newton are invited to apply for a £2,700 donation from the Southern Co-operative store.
The shop has run a community support scheme over the last few years, which aims to donate funding to local organisations.
In November it handed £10,000 to Sturminster Newton Museum and Mill Society, with a further £5,000 each donated to Friends of Stour View and St Gregory School PTFA in Marnhull.
An additional sum of £2,700 has been made available following the cessation of a previous community support scheme recipient, Last Monday Live, which received £7,500 in 2012.
The store’s retail business manager Daniel Haynes said: “As the money has been returned to us by Last Monday Live, we’re inviting applications for this funding so that we can return it to the community and support another good cause here in Sturminster Newton.”
Local charities and good causes can bid for the £2,700 by picking up an application form from The Southern Co-operative store in Station Road, Sturminster Newton.
These must be returned to the store by February 28.
A panel made up of customer and colleague members of The Southern Co-operative will then consider all applications and award the funding to the organisation they feel will most benefit the local community.
