A FIVE-YEAR-OLD child was taken to hospital to be checked over after a crash near Dorchester.

The A35 was blocked this afternoon after the crash involving a car and a Land Rover at the Stinsford Roundabout.

Traffic queued around the area as the emergency services worked.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said that there were three casualties, but their injuries are not believed to be serious.

He said the five-year-old was in the car and went to Dorset County Hospital to be checked over, but it’s understood the child’s injuries were not serious.

One person was cut out of the Land Rover by fire crews removing the roof. The two people from the Land Rover were treated at the scene by ambulance staff and did not need to go to hospital.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We were called at 1.56pm to a two vehicle collision with no injuries.”

The two vehicles involved were a red Land Rover Freelander registered to a Dorchester man and a yellow Vauxhall Vivaro registered to a Weymouth man.
