FIREFIGHTERS in Blandford used buckets of water to extinguish a small controlled fire after it was left unattended.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service received a report of rubbish on fire in Eagle House Gardens last night at around 11.10pm.
Retained firefighters from Blandford Fire Station attended the scene.
On arrival crews found a small fire in the open which was believed to be an unattended controlled fire.
It was extinguished using buckets of water with the situation under control by 11.25pm.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service is advising people to never leave any controlled fires unattended.
People should be aware of their responsibilities under environmental health legislation.
A water supply, such as a hosepipe, should be laid out nearby.
