EASTER events are everywhere this weekend - so if you’re looking for music events, children’s activities and the chance to hunt some Easter eggs, then look no further.

1) ENJOY a cup of tea or maybe something stronger on the quay at a free Weymouth festival on Easter Sunday.

Tea on the Quay, held outside Rendezvous, will see local bands playing on an outdoor stage overlooking Weymouth Harbour from noon through to midnight.

Fingers crossed for some good weather.

2) BE up with the larks on Easter Sunday and watch the sun rise on Swanage Beach from 5.30am.

3) A PIRATE festival is being held in Weymouth by Weymouth BID featuring a pirate trail for children, drumming through the streets of Weymouth by The Dolmen and a Pirate vs Redcoat Battle on Weymouth Beach.

4) PIRATES and princesses will be taking part in various activities at the Nothe Fort in Weymouth on Easter Sunday from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

There will be a mock battle between the Nothe Fort Artillery and the pirates with lots of smoke, gun fire and shouting. See nothefort.org.uk

5) FOODIES will be licking their lips at the thought of the first Dorset Food and Venison Festival, which is being held at Post Green House, Lytchett Minster near Poole tomorrow from 10am to 5pm.

Entry is £2.50 for adults and children under 12-years-old are free.

6) DESIGN your finest bonnet for Easter at the Easter Bonnet Parade in Lyme Regis on Easter Sunday.

Judging of the Easter bonnets takes place at 2pm in the Baptist Church Hall and will be followed by a parade at 3pm to the Marine Parade with the Lyme Regis.

On Easter Monday there will be a duck race from Windsor Terrace to the Jordan Flats. Ducks are available from 11.30am and cost £1.

7) A NUMBER of Easter Egg hunts are being held in the area for those who wanted a challenge for their chocolate reward.

Choose between trails at Bennetts Water Gardens, Corfe Castle, Lulworth Castle, Highcliffe and Kingston Maurward. Contact the attractions for full details.

8) ENTERTAIN the youngsters with some children’s theatre at Dorchester Arts Centre today.

My Friend Mole has two performances at the School Lane theatre at 11am and 2pm.

9) FORGET Easter eggs, it’s all about dinosaur eggs at Dorchester’s Dinosaur Museum.

The Great Easter Dinosaur Hunt takes place every day until Sunday, April 19. Children are invited to look for clues throughout the museum and solve the dinosaur mystery.

All those who spot all the dinosaur eggs will win a special dinosaur hunter medal.

The museum is open every day between 10am and 5pm.

10) FINALLY Spongebob Squarepants will be making a guest appearance at Weymouth Sea Life and Adventure Park tomorrow (Friday, April 3).
