FIREFIGHTERS attended a fire at a property in Westham in Weymouth.

At 5.56pm last night, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a dishwasher on fire at a property in the area.

Two fire engines from Weymouth were mobilised and on arrival found a dishwasher in the ground floor kitchen on fire.

Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus to enter the building and extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet.

Following the fire, the service has urged people to “never” tackle a fire in their home themselves and to get out as quickly as possible, and call 999.
