A BRIDAL fair backed by the Dorset Echo will feature hand-selected retailers when it comes to Dorchester this Saturday.

It has been set up by local business Bridal Reloved, which strives to cut the prices of the once-in-a-lifetime day by supplying dresses for the occasion.

Kate Atkinson, owner of the business, said that she frequently attends wedding fairs and that competition runs high.

Bridal Reloved has now franchised to Essex and is expected to open five more stores this year.

“Lots of people go to wedding fairs not just the bride and groom but the mother of the bride and the bridesmaids," said Kate.

“I went to a wedding fair last year and it was only 12 stalls and four of them were photographers and three were bridals.

“You could book your whole wedding in one day with this fair.”

This particular fair will feature one handpicked wedding retailer or business for each wedding need.

“We’ve handpicked people with a good reputation and experience.

“People we feel are some of the most respectable people in the area," Kate added.

Businesses which will be exhibiting their stalls on the day include independent make-up artist Kirsten Sare, Dawn Potter photography, Hello Sweet Pea and Perfect Day cars.

The fair is being held at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester on Saturday from 11am-3pm.
