THE election is still two weeks away but two Weymouth Sea Life residents have already given the Liberal Democrats their seal of approval.
Common seals Smartie, 17, and Starburst, 16, are first time voters and their keepers decided to give them the chance to vote early.
The two seals were shown photographs of the three main party leaders, David Cameron, Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg.
The fate of the leaders was seal-ed with a kiss after the seals wobbled over to the Lib Dem leader.
A spokesman for the Sea Life park said: “Upon being presented with pictures of the three main party leaders, Smartie and Starburst definitely had a favourite, choosing to wobble on over to Clegg and show that they seal-iously support him.
“The pair proved their loyalty to the Lib Dem leader following his kind words about their Cornish cousins when he visited the Gweek seal sanctuary last month.”
On his visit to the sanctuary in Cornwall, the Lib Dem leader had the chance to feed the resident seals and said the experience was ‘brilliant.’
He later sent a picture of him feeding the seals to his family.
