FOR two weeks in May, Riverford will be launching a new celebrity chef inspired recipe box into their collection.

The company's traditional recipe boxes come in three different styles: original, vegetarian and quick recipes, which vary their menus every week.

The boxes also boast their reduced impact on the environment from using compostable and recyclable materials to package their produce.

The special edition Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recipe box will provide everything needed for customers to make three meals for two, with what the company promise is fresh, seasonal, organic ingredients from Riverford farms.

This is the second instalment of celebrity chef inspired recipe boxes, the first was brought out in February when Riverford collaborated with Hemsley + Hemsley.

A spokesperson for Riverford said that the February addition to the menu was successful.

Riverford.

Founded by farmer Guy Watson, Riverford has been growing and selling organic vegetables for 27 years.

As with all the recipe boxes from the company, everything (except salt, pepper and oil,) is provided in exact quantities.

The ingredients provided will allow you to cook up spring chicken, spiced beef with bashed beans and a new potato, asparagus and egg dish.

The recipes featured come from Hugh’s latest cookbook, Light and Easy.

The book was published last year, in which he uses no dairy or wheat ingredients to create a variety of recipes.

Food and cookery writer and broadcaster, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, who is a patron of the National Farmers' Retail and Markets Association (FARMA), started the River Cottage cookery school back in 2004.

The cookery school focusses on recipes using local, seasonal and sustainably-sourced ingredients.

Hugh said: “This is a very exciting collaboration. I have long been a fan of Riverford’s fantastic veg boxes and I’m thrilled to find myself in them, as it were.

“One of my guiding principles when writing Light and Easy was to keep everything as simple and hassle-free as possible. These recipe boxes embody that idea, to the max.”

Guy praised Hugh’s recipes and the way in which they deliver to Riverford's high standards.

He added:“It’s also great to be working with someone who shares our environmental principles and determination to encourage cooking from scratch with seasonal ingredients.”

The exclusive recipe boxes are available to order from Thursday May 14 for delivery May 18-29. Orders can be placed online at riverford.co.uk/recipeboxes or by calling the farm on 01803762059.
