PEOPLE are being urged to come on the ‘trip of a lifetime’ to India whilst raising money for a good cause of their choice.

A group are heading out to cycle a section of India’s golden triangle in October to raise money for charity.

The team will cycle 509km over five days from Aggra to Jaipur with buses being used to travel the rest of the golden triangle and take in the area's sights.

The trip will take in the likes of the Taj Mahal and Mother Teresa’s Orphanage in the Rajasthan region.

The challenge is open to people of all ages, abilities and walks of life.

Annette Pitman, 51 from Tolpuddle, is urging people to join the team and get signed up.

She said: “It’s going to be the trip of a lifetime. You build such great friendships doing this.

“I have got lifetime friends from the trip I did out there two years ago.

“It’s people from all walks of life and abilities.”

People are invited to fund the trip and raise money for good causes through any means they like.

Annette wants to encourage people to come and experience the country and also raise money for local and national causes.

She said: “They’re just a really friendly people out there, it’s really rewarding. It attacks all your senses and we’re doing it for a charity of their choice.

“We’ve got a lot of local charities that really need our help.”

The youngest person going on the trip is just 16 with the oldest more than 70 years old.

Annette is encouraging people with little experience to sign-up, saying it’s a ‘challenge not a race’ and that with a bit of practice anyone could complete it.

She herself is yet to start fundraising or training so people shouldn’t worry about being behind.

There will be full support provided on the trip, with plenty of opportunities for breaks to take photos and take on water across the exotic landscape.

With the challenge open to people to raise money for any charity of their choice, Annette herself is hoping to raise money for the victims of the recent Nepalese earthquake.

Nepal is struggling to cope with the effects of two devastating earthquakes in the past month leaving over 8,500 dead and millions in need of assistance.

The trip takes place from October 22 to October 31.

Entries are still open and people are encouraged to get in touch with Annette on nettie.pitman@gmail.com or on 07977 421336 or 01305 848219 if they would like to donate.
