FIRE crews were called out to assist with an animal rescue this afternoon.
Dorset Fire and Rescue received a call just after 12pm from the coastguard stating that there was a deer on a ledge at Anvil Point, Durlston.
A crew from Swanage and their animal crew from Poole were sent to investigate.
Once in attendance the crew requested the assistance of a Landrover to help with access.
At the scene crews assessed the situation and liaised with members of the public and decided that the best course of action was to leave the deer in situ to not cause it undue stress.
The RSPCA was informed and the service liaised with them for advice throughout the duration of this incident.
