POLICE are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a serious injury fail-to-stop collision.

At around 6.08am today, a road traffic collision took place in Springdale Road in Broadstone, outside Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, involving a vehicle and a bicycle.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The cyclist, a 58-year-old man from Corfe Mullen, sustained serious back, neck and arm injuries and was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment.

Police Constable Vivienne Bedford, of Dorset Police’s Traffic Unit, said: “I am investigating how this man sustained his injuries and would appeal to anyone who may have seen the collision or the cyclist prior to the incident to please call me on 101.

“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
