STAFF from a Dorchester housing association who got on their bikes for charity have said thank you to all those who supported them.

A team of eight Magna employees were joined by friends and family as they took on a gruelling coast to coast cycle ride in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

They rode 57 miles from the West Somerset port of Watchet to West Bay to raise more than £1,800 for the cause.

Team member and head of communication for Magna Catriona Fountain said: ‘We’ve been overwhelmed with the amount raised in sponsorship and we’d like to thank everyone who has supported us.

"Our particular thanks go to Dorset Vehicle Rentals who provided a minibus to get the team and the bikes up to Watchet.

"Without them we’d have really struggled."

Colette McKenney, income manager, said: "This is the second time I have taken part in the challenge and I’m really glad I did.

"The money is going to a fantastic local cause and it is all the more relevant to us at Magna as it covers the area where we have properties."
