A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after a crash near Osmington.

Dorset Police said that they were called at 8.45am to the single vehicle accident close to the White Horse Garage on White Horse Hill, Osmington.

Officers said the red Kawasaki motorcycle was registered to a man from Weymouth and only minor injuries sustained in the accident.

The road was closed as the emergency services worked but it reopened shortly after 9am.

Eyewitnesses said they heard sirens and saw police and ambulances going through Preston en route to the crash.

There was debris from the accident on the road close to the White Horse Hill Garage.

A spokesman for the South Western Ambulance Trust said: “We were called at 8.40am to a road traffic collision involving a motorbike.”

The spokesman said the patient had pain in the hip, back and ribs and was taken to Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester.
