STAFF members of a local bank branch will be getting hot under the collar as they raise money for a nationwide charity.

Workers at Santander will be encouraging the public get involved in their exercise fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support tomorrow from 9am-2pm.

On Saturday, exercise enthusiasts can head over to CrossFit in Weymouth and make a donation as they watch teams battle it out to be crowned a CrossFit champion.

Jessica Burlinson, a local business manager at Santander said: "In the branch on Friday, we will be having exercise equipment such as rowing machines as well as stuff outside.

"Staff members and CrossFit Weymouth will be taking part and encouraging members of the public to get involved too "CrossFit is a local business we have chosen them to take part and do something with us to raise money.

"They're quite new in town so we would like to support them in their venture.

"It's all for fun and to show case that we want to be part of the community."

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at the branch tomorrow.

Ben Hunt, owner of CrossFit Weymouth said that the teams and members of the public will be coming together to take part in the competitions on Saturday and to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan.

He added: "Jessica contacted us and asked if we could get on board.

"We were delighted to be asked to help raise money of Macmillan."

Last year Santander raised approximately £600 for the British Heart Foundation.

Jessica Burlinson said: "We want to beat what we raised before, we have a starting target of £500 but we want to raise a lot more than that.

"The team have been really positive and they're all quite excited for it.

"Macmillan is a really good charity for us to raise money for."
