IT'S rocks around the clock at Lyme Regis again this year - with thousands expected to pack the town for the third annual fossil festival over the bank holiday weekend.
With the new seafront open for business again organisers hope to top last year's 7,000 visitors - bringing a welcome cash boost for traders.
The three-day event will be officially opened tomorrow at 10am in Guildhall Square by West Dorset MP Oliver Letwin.
This year's Rising Seas theme reflects the global interest in climate change.
Festival organiser Fred Humphrey said: "Without climate change in prehistoric times, it's very likely there would not have been such a wonderful range of fossils in the rocks around Lyme."
A strong scientific input is being led by the Natural History Museum with a large team of experts, while Lyme and Charmouth's fossil experts will be selling and demonstrating their craft and expertise, while important organisations and universities covering geology, ecology, and the Dorset and Devon coasts will be taking part.
