ORGANISATIONS can apply for funding to run projects designed to help unemployed people in Dorset.
The Big Lottery Fund and the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) have been working together to develop the projects and are now inviting bids from groups across the county to run them.
There are three projects in the Dorset area, which aim to help unemployed people access the job market. One is a project to support people who are out of work and want to start their own business or social enterprise.
To fund the schemes, the Big Lottery Fund is matching grants from the European Social Fund, which together is worth £40.5m across the South West.
Dawn Austwick, Chief Executive of the Big Lottery Fund said: "Working with local enterprise partnerships across the South West, these projects will enable people to overcome challenges and improve their long-term job prospects. This valuable partnership will create new opportunities for groups to focus on issues specific to their local communities.”
