ONE person has been taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a lorry on the Weymouth Relief Road.
Emergency services rushed to the scene near the junction for Winterborne Monkton shortly after 10am this morning following the crash between an orange Skoda registered to a woman from Hampshire, and a green DAS tipper truck, registered to a company from Wiltshire.
Dorset Police have closed the relief road from the Football Club roundabout in Dorchester to the Jurassic Roundabout in Weymouth.
A spokesman from South Western Ambulance service said that one person had been taken to Dorset County Hospital with head injuries following the crash, although it was not yet known how serious the injuries were.
The road has been reopened by Dorset Police, but motorists are still facing delays due to a backlog of traffic.
