13th May - Left Right Left Right Left Splash Wind, Driving Rain and cold....a perfect day for testing out the West Bay to Langton Herring stretch of the route!

All part of the training we thought. I had (albeit cheap) waterproof trousers on but Jo was braving the elements in her trusty old joggers - it was never going to be a happy relationship.

Slowly but surely the water dribbled down the joggers into the boots - having had a debate about how much waterproof spray she had put on them. It was all the joggers fault.

Meanwhile my berghaus jacket clearly has no waterproofing left and I was winning the wet t-shirt competition. Coast path? Did we see any coast? Despite this we carried on, nothing can deter us, sensible hubby had noted the weather was better the day before but I wasn't bothered with the weather forecast - how I wished I had!

Stepping out towards West Bexington and the rain was absolutely pouring, but it was the thunder that made us decide enough was enough. We needed a sensible hubby, but no phone signal. We went into the local cafe to be told there was no way we would get a signal and as we stood there looking like we'd just been for a quick dip fully clothed in the sea, we realised that the lady wasn't actually going to assist us, oh no no no! She was busy placing newspaper around us on the floor.

Our sincere apologies to the lady in the cafe who had to clear up after us, and in case you were worried we did get a signal in the end, a quick phone call to Jo's hubby and the rescue renault was promptly on its way.
