AN AMERICAN television programme looking to dispel the myth that the British can’t cook is heading to Weymouth.
Shaun Hatton, from the Marlboro restaurant has recently been contacted by an American TV company.
He was contacted by Zero Point Zero Productions, based in New York, which produces a number of popular American culture and food programmes.
Shaun said that he was told they are working on a piece dispelling the myth that the British can’t cook.
It will feature celebrity chef Marco Pierre White who will be heading to the town for filming.
Shaun was told that they will be heading out on a fishing trip and if the weather isn’t suitable or they don’t catch any fish they will head to the Marlboro instead.
The crew will be visiting one day next week to do the filming.
Shaun said that Mr White has been in to the restaurant two or three times over the years and must have recommended it as a possible location to the programme.
He has visited in 2007 and 2013.
On a visit in 2013 he tucked in to haddock and chips and left a £5 tip.
He has also been on a fishing trip off Weymouth for a previous cooking programme.
