A CHAMBER choir from London is returning to Weymouth to give a special performance.

The Grove Singers will perform at All Saints’ Church, Wyke Regis, for their first concert with their new conductor, Tim Rhys Morgan on Saturday July 16 at 7.30pm.

The choir was formed by Brian Newman in 1992 and flourished under his direction until 2015.

Members of the choir come from all walks of life and enjoy the varied repertoire of music performed - sacred, secular, folk, spirituals, ancient and modern.

The concert will be a mix of old and new, sacred music, folksongs and spirituals, acapella and with accompaniment by Duncan Honeybourne.

The Grove Singers is a chamber choir of 40 voices which rehearses in Pimlico, central London every three to four weeks on a Sunday afternoon.

It gives an average of four concerts a year, often mixed programmes of a cappella music, with an orchestral concert including a larger scale work every other year in London. Recent London venues include St James. Piccadilly; The Queen’s Chapel at the Savoy; the Temple Church and the Garden Museum.

Tickets are £9 if bought in advance and £10 on the door and include refreshments. There is no charge for under 16s. Please contact Julia Moore, 01305 776138, for tickets or more information
