WALK with dinosaurs – or at least in their footsteps as you step back in time with a whole host of summer activities on the Jurassic Coast.

The Jurassic Coast Trust is encouraging local families and young budding palaeontologists to sign up to its Go Jurassic! Rangers Club to enjoy a sensational series of summer events.

The first event, Dinosaurs & Donkeys, is running at The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth, on July 27.

The day will feature a woodland walk, beach games and donkey grooming at the sanctuary.

Follow the adventurous day with a 'Fossil Blitz' in Lyme Regis, run in collaboration with London’s Natural History Museum, a dinosaur footprints walk in Purbeck and a fossil hunt in Ringstead.

The events are either free or heavily discounted for Go Jurassic! Rangers. All funds raised from Go Jurassic! go towards the trust’s education and conservation work along the coast, inspiring the next generation of palaeontologists, geologists and conservationists and ensuring the safeguarding of the World Heritage Site into the future.

Guy Kerr from the trust said: "We are delighted to launch the summer events season for our Go Jurassic! Rangers, and look forward to welcoming new members along.

"We now have families signed up from across the country and can’t wait share the incredible beauty and diversity of the Jurassic Coast with them.

"This area offers so much for families and the range of our activities – from fossil hunts to coastal walks to beach games – reflects that.”

Alex O’Dwyer, also from the trust, said: "The Jurassic Coast is such a fantastic source of inspiration for children and their families, and Go Jurassic is a really important part of how we can engage more children with the local environment.

"The club is brilliant for children that live within easy reach of the coast because there are hands-on activities to get involved in, but it is also a way of building an ongoing relationship with families who visit the coast and who enjoyed finding out about the rocks and fossils here."

The Jurassic Coast Trust works with partners to support a diverse range of education, conservation, arts and science projects along the length of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

The Trust is strongly focused on helping people understand and enjoy the site.
