A YOUNG man was beaten up and had his wallet stolen in a street robbery in Weymouth.
The late night attack happened in the Turton Street area off Park Street last Friday about 11pm.
Police are appealing for information in a bid to track down those responsible.
Officers said the victim, a 23-year-old local man, was walking towards the train station.
The victim was approached by a group of three to four men when one of them, in a black hooded top, punched the victim causing him to fall the floor. He was then punched a further two or three times and kicked twice in the ribs sustaining injuries to his right eye and ribs.
The offenders stole the victim’s wallet from his back pocket and fled the scene.
The victim sustained injuries to his right eye and ribs.
Detective Constable Sarah Desmond, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about who is responsible to contact Dorset Police.”
No arrests have been made.
