TWO friends are on a mission to try and find a present for every mum and child staying at a women’s refuge in Dorset this Christmas.

Julie Croley and Melody Mitchell, have got together and are trying to spread a bit of Christmas joy to women and children in refuges this year.

Julie said: “It’s off the back of something we did a couple of years ago.

“We put out a shout on social media and with friends and family we just got loads and loads of donations, we just thought we’d give it a go, this time just seeing if we can get a lot of Christmas presents.”

Sandy West, at Asda in Weymouth, has already got the ball rolling by donating some gifts, and Julie gave her thanks to her for her support.

Now though, she is pleading with people across the county to send their donations as well.

She said: “People can give anything from inperishable goods, to games, toiletries, books in pristine condition, sweet treats or anything which would bring a smile this Christmas .

“Put yourself in that position. That’s what I would say, just try and put yourself in that situation.”

If you want to donate to the fundraising, email Julie at juliecroley@mail.com or by calling 07464638744. Or contact Melody on taxichick73@gmail.com.

Julie added they are happy to collect anyone’s gifts to ensure that every child and mum in a refuge gets a present.
