A TELEVISION production company is seeking willing residents for a ‘ground-breaking documentary.’

Pulse Films is currently producing a series for Channel Five focusing on complicated family relationships and the experiences of children who grow up with separated parents.

According to data compiled by the Office of National Statistics, Weymouth and Portland is one of the top ten most divorced areas in the UK.

As a result, producers at Pulse Films have decides to make the town a focal point of the documentary series, to encourage cooperation and communication amongst divorcees.

Casting producer Vanessa Singh said: "We are currently producing a ground breaking documentary series about the ‘Modern Family’ and which aims to explore how family life can become quite complex once a couple with children separates.

"The documentary will give separated parents and their respective new partners the opportunity to find a positive parenting solution that works."

The programme is based upon the premise that divorced parents often find it hard to communicate effectively.

It will champion the idea that happy and healthy children are raised without parental conflict, with sustainable access to love, support and input of both parents regardless of a separation.

The entirety of the project will be under the guidance of a trained occupational therapist.

Vanessa added: "For this landmark new series, we’re looking to film with divorced or separated parents, and also step-parents from the area. The aim is to find a resolution that allows both parents to be actively involved in their child’s upbringing and the needs of the child/children prioritised."
