THE first full trailer of Christopher Nolan’s war film Dunkirk has been released.

And finally One Direction fans can catch the shot they have been waiting for - Harry Styles in his acting debut.

Styles cut off his long curly hair for his role as a soldier in the retelling of the 1940 Miracle of Dunkirk.

In the new clips, he can be seen submerged under water, in a life-jacket and sitting helplessly on the French beach.

Photographs of him during filming drew legions of fans to the film’s locations and they expressed outrage when he was not featured in the film’s teaser trailer, which was released earlier this year.

The Second World War drama, partly shot in Dorset, tells the true story of Operation Dynamo, a plan by the Allies to rescue 300,000 stranded troops surrounded by Nazis soldiers, and stars Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Kenneth Branagh.

The trailer opens with hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops surrounded by enemy forces as bodies float in the sea before bombs rain down.

Dunkirk will come to UK screens on July 21 next year.
