EVER been caught at the traffic lights belting out the hits of Mariah Carey in your car?

Be honest, we all love a good sing-a-long on the drive home after a stressful day of work.

Our love of warbling has been proven, with world-wide success of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke.

During the segment of The Late Late Show, James is joined by a celebrity such as Madonna, Michelle Obama and even Mariah herself.

Now two Weymouth women are going on their own carpool-inspired journey in aid of a good cause.

Mel Ward and Kim Fudge have been taking to the road and recording themselves dressing up and singing popular hits, all to raise money for Clic Sargent.

The idea is that people head to their Facebook page and request a song and make a donation to Clic. The pair will then record themselves singing the song.

After just four days and 12 videos, Mel and Kim have raised more than £600 for Clic Sargent.

So far they have recorded songs including Elvis Presley's Suspicious Minds, Wham's Last Christmas and Aqua's Barbie Girl.

Clic Sargent is a charity dedicated to help youngsters with cancer.

The carpool karaoke is all part of a bigger fundraising effort and Mel, 46, and Kim, 49, will also be taking on the London Marathon next year.

Kim, who runs an electronics distribution company, said: "It's just gone brilliantly. We've had four days and we've got more than £600.

"The idea is just to dress up and have a bit of fun and really go from there. It's just been so touching listening to people's stories about Clic. It just made us want to raise as much as we can.

The idea came to the pair when they were driving home from an Elvis tribute night listening to a CD.

Kim said: "It just came in the spur of the moment coming home. We thought we can do this for charity, we could make a bit of money for charity."

The pair are now looking to get businesses involved asking them to make a reasonable donation for a song and a mention in the video and on the pair's Facebook page.

Money Matters in Weymouth has already got involved and the pair will soon be sing Abba's Money Money Money for them.

The London Marathon has already been in touch with the duo and wants to feature them in the event's coverage.

Kim welcomed this as the most important thing is raising more publicity and money for Clic Sargent.

Kim said: "The most important thing is Clic. If we can make people laugh as well as raising money for Clic, that's what it is all about."

With more than 30 requests for songs, there looks to be plenty more singing, and plenty more fundraising to come.
