WEYMOUTH lifeboat was called to evacuate a man from a boat.
The lifeboat was launched just after 10am today to a merchant ship where a man had sustained a hand injury.
The lifeboat met up with the boat around 10 miles south of Portland Bill.
He was taken by the lifeboat back to Weymouth Harbour, where the lifeboat handed his care over to South Western Ambulance Service.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said that a call was received at around 12:10pm to reports of a male casualty with a hand injury.
One ambulance attended and the man was taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment.
The lifeboat was back in Weymouth just after 1pm.
