A PAIR of new Easter events have been put together by the Weymouth BID.

Weymouth’s Jurassic Egg Hunt and Roarsome Dino Day will take place over the Easter holidays, harnessing the successful elements of the previous pirate events and running in co-operation with the Jurassic Coast Organisation.

The Jurassic Egg hunt will begin on April 8 and finish on April 23. Young explorers can hunt clues scattered around Weymouth town in the hopes of finding Jurassic Dino Eggs.

A mysterious riddle can be found with the eggs, which when solved reveals the location of the rare T-Rex Egg.

Explorers must complete and return their trail forms before April 24 to have a shot at winning a bag of Easter goodies.

The Roarsome Dino Day will take place on Saturday, April 15, and will involve a mix of dinosaur-related activities.

The fun begins at 11am and will involve a Dino Passport Quest, games, mask-making, balloon modeller and magician, mask parade and a Dino Roar competition. Families will also come face to face with T-Rex Junior, a walking, roaring T-Rex who will be stalking the streets of Weymouth.

The Weymouth BID will approach retailers with store windows which can be seen at all times to display a dinosaur egg and clue amongst the products.

Eggs and display advice will be provided.

The trail will be designed so that the eggs can be found in prominent locations, ensuring not only a fun trail but an adventure around Weymouth.

A £50 prize is up for grabs for staff who dress up as cavemen and women or explorers with classic pith helmets.

The prize will be awarded to the business with the best dressed staff on April 15.

To be visited by the judge and photographer you must register with the BID through email or phone. To be in with a chance of winning £50 register by email paulmills@weymouthbid.co.uk or phone 01305 779410 by March 24.
