Child in collision with a car on Portland
A CHILD has been seriously injured after colliding with a car on Portland.
The accident happened outside the prison on Grove Road this afternoon.
Police and the ambulance service attended the scene.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We were called to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a child.
"The injuries are believed to be serious but not life threatening and child has been treated by the ambulance services.”
Grove Road was closed in both directions between the A354 Easton Street and Shepherds Croft.
The road reopened at 5.20pm.
