A NEW seafood inspired bistro has launched in Weymouth and is already thriving in its first month.

Sea Beats, located on the Esplanade, was opened on March 31 by MP Richard Drax and is already a bustling café and bistro.

The bistro was launched by husband and wife, Adam and Lauren Foster.

Adam was previously the head chef at the Crab House Café for eight years and also worked at Billy Winters.

Adam said: “I’ve always wanted to have my own seafood restaurant and we just thought lets do it.

“I’ve always loved seafood and we’ve given it a bit of a Mexican and Persian twist.

“But at the same time we have kept things quite simple.

“I’m really in to different colours and flavours and like to experiment.

“I try to use Dorset products where I can.”

Lauren added: “We wanted to create something a bit different and something for all ages.

“We are really excited about everything and we can’t wait for the summer. It will be hard work but worth it.”

Adam and Lauren also have plans to organise live music in their outside seating area in the summer.

Sea Beats is open daily from 8.30am for breakfast. It closes at 4pm and opens again at 6pm for the evening.
