Firefighters were called to a Bridport hotel early this morning after a washing machine caught fire.
Crews were called just after 1am, to reports of a blaze in the laundry room of The West Bay Hotel on Station Road in West Bay.
The room was blackened by the fire, which was caused by a build-up of heat in the machine.
Two engines from Bridport attended the fire, which was extinguished using two hose reel jets.
The washing machine and a tumble dryer were removed from the laundry room, and the property was ventilated.
The hotel will be open as usual today.
