A 60-tonne fishing vessel needing assistance in returning to the harbour.
The UK Coastguard requested the Swanage all-weather lifeboat launch to take over the tow of the 60-tonne fishing vessel that was currently in tow by Mudeford lifeboat.
Swanage lifeboat was called at 7.16pm yesterday (June 23).
The Shannon class lifeboat launched and plotted a course to intercept at Hengistbury Head.
On arrival, the fishing vessel, the ‘Jane Elizabeth’, had an engine running and had retrieved their nets, but wished to be escorted into Poole Harbour.
The lifeboat duly escorted Jane Elizabeth into Poole harbour and left the scene at 9.30pm.
