A MAN sprayed swastikas and a swear word across the front of his elderly ex-mother-in-law's home, a court was told.

Andrew Albert Rado, 43, of Main Road, Tolpuddle, admitted the offence when he appeared before Weymouth magistrates.

Sprayed Elizabeth Valera, prosecuting, said the front door and front window of a home in Beech Road, Puddletown, were sprayed on June 26.

She added that police were called about the criminal damage, which involved swastikas being spray-painted across the front of the house with a four-letter word sprayed across a window.

The front door was also affected by the paint, she said.

Rado was arrested, she said, and told police: "I knew you were coming. I did a stupid thing last night."

She added that Rado, who said that he had made arrangements to settle the bill for the damage, apologised and said that he had been drunk at the time.

Miss Valera added that the victim said in a statement: "I am very shaken-up and shocked.

"I feel like a good cry. I am 80 years old and I am no trouble to anyone."

Magna Housing owns the damaged house and has since cleaned off the paint, said Miss Valera.

Rado told the court: "I am deeply sorry for the damage to the home of my ex-mother-in-law.

Frustrated "I have been very frustrated that my ex-wife no longer lets me see my children for no reason at all.

"I have been seeing a counsellor to see what my trouble is. I know it is no excuse.

"I am deeply sorry."

Rado was fined £200 and ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
