The Weymouth RNLI inshore lifeboat was launched this afternoon (Aug 11) to assist a yacht with a fouled propeller.
The inshore lifeboat was launched at 1.54pm to respond to a "Pan Pan" message from a yacht with two persons on-board with a fouled propeller close to Weymouth Harbour entrance.
Once on scene at 1.59pm the volunteer crew assessed the situation and with no other problems and the persons fine and well, a tow was passed to the vessel.
The inshore lifeboat then towed the vessel to the harbour entrance, continuing the tow alongside the lifeboat took the yacht into the harbour to the casualties berth.
Once the casualty vessel was safely moored, the lifeboat was released to return to station, refuelled and made ready for service at 3pm.
