Organisers of a school festival are calling on you for help.

All Saints School Music and Arts Festival is set to return for its fourth year on Saturday, September 23 - and there is still room for traders, charities, artists or youth groups to have stalls.

The event is also in need of sponsors.

Organised by the Friends of All Saints School Association (FASSA), a registered charity, the event will showcase many local bands and artists, dance troupes, sports displays, majorettes, community groups, steam engines and vintage vehicles.

Visitors can browse arts and craft trade stalls and children will be kept entertained with inflatables, a 35ft climbing wall and face painting.

An indoor stage will host local acts throughout the day, including Blazin’ Strings, Elvis tribute act Johnny King and band The Cubes.

Student performances will include Lets Dance, a prom fashion show by Bridal & Ball, Weymouth Choral Society and Razzamataz Theatre School.

Guests will be able to grab a bite to eat from the barbecue, enjoy homemade pizza, cakes and light refreshments at the beer and cider tent. The previous three festivals have helped fund a brand new state-of-the-art IT suite and specialist science equipment for the school.

FASSA festival organiser Amanda Dunning said: “The festival team is working hard to organise the fourth festival at All Saints. Previous festivals have enjoyed beautiful weather and attracted more than 1,600 people.

“This year we have been focussing on raising money to pay for replacement tennis courts, which will cost approximately £25,000. Without the fundraising, the school cannot provide such equipment and the local children will miss out.”

Local businesses and organisations – including JD Wetherspoon, Weymouth and Portland Lions Club and Weymouth South Scouts - are supporting the festival.

The festival will take place from 11am and there is special offer on entrance fees until 11.30am. Tickets will cost £2.50 for adults before and £3 after. Children go free.

Disabled parking is available but, due the size of the site, no other public parking is permitted.
