Underage drinking, anti-social driving and swearing are just some of the issues reported to police by concerned residents.

At a community meeting in Wool, the Purbeck neighbourhood policing team spoke to residents about the anti-social behaviour they had experienced during the summer and any concerns they may have.

In Wool and the surrounding areas, members of the public reported witnessing littering, swearing, anti-social driving, underage drinking, suspected drug use, broken glass and intimidating behaviour.

A spokesman for the policing team said: “We carried out lots of hi-visibility patrols, worked with the youth clubs and schools and we visited parents and engaged with young people.

“We all feel very strongly about educating and keeping people of all ages safe, especially on the road, so we created a leaflet to educate people about the anti-social use of motor vehicles. We have even set up football matches; police versus youth clubs, to engage with young people.

“Generally speaking we believe that the situation has improved, however our engagement and patrols will continue.”

Neighbourhood police will continue to arrange ‘meet the team’ dates for residents in the future.
