A woman has been taken to hospital after a car rolled onto its roof on the A35 near Winterbourne Abbas. 

Emergency servcies were called to the scene after silver Ford Focus rolled onto its roof on the verge of the A35.

The incident occured half a mile east of Winterbourne Abbas.

A spokesperson for Dorset police said: "We were called today at 12.20pm to a report of a single vehicle collision - it was reported the car had rolled onto its roof.

"The vehicle involved was a silver Ford Focus, registered to a Hampshire woman. Recovery has been requested for the vehicle." 

They added fire and ambulance services had also been requested. 

One woman has been taken to hospotal but police said the extend of her injuries is not clear. 

A spokesperson from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and rescue said they were called at 12.25pm to a report of a vehicle which had rolled onto its roof and gone off the road. 

"Both crews from Dorchester attended and there was a report of grey smoke coming from the vehicle.

"On arrival crews found a vehicle on its roof on the verge. Nobody was trapped in the car so crews made the vehicle safe," the spokesperson said. 

Fire crews washed away fuel from the road and the road was cleared by 2.10pm.
