Officers investigating two break-ins at commercial premises in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at around 7.30pm on Sunday, March 11 of a break-in at the Fun Factory on the Granby Industrial Estate.

Entry was gained to the premises by the offenders smashing the reception window, activating an alarm. An untidy search was carried out inside and damage was caused to a till and lollypop machine.

It was also reported that at around 8.25pm on the same day entry was forced to Wessex Locksmiths in Abbotsbury Road, with the front door smashed.

CCTV images from the store show a man and woman entering the shop, shining a light on the till and then leaving the premises.

The woman is described as white, around five feet five inches tall and of medium build and was wearing a baseball cap, grey hooded top, skinny jeans and trainers.

The man is described as white, around five feet six inches tall and of slim build and was wearing a grey hooded tracksuit top and bottoms with black trainers.

Police Constable Matthew Love, of Weymouth police, said: “Due to the similarities in the nature of these break-ins and the timings, at this stage we believed they could be linked.

“As part of our ongoing investigation into these incidents, we are releasing the CCTV footage of the suspects from Wessex Locksmiths. I appreciate it is not the best quality, but I am appealing for anyone who recognises the man and woman or the descriptions given to contact police.

“We are also appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of the Fun Factory or Wessex Locksmiths around the relevant times to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Dorset Police at, via email or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55180037013.
