As a dog lover I am pleased to learn that an attempt by Richmond Council to ban dogs from urinating in public places has been overturned in the High Court.
I can understand that many people find it unacceptable when dogs cock their legs against lamp posts, trees etc, but I believe there is a solution to the problem.
Quite simply, dog owners should fit their pets with a strap-on rubber bag, similar in principle to the incontinence appliances worn by people who do not have full control of their bladders.
A full range of strap-on rubber urinal bags should be made available in all pet shops so that all sizes of dogs are prevented from contaminating the environment.
