Surfacing work is about to start which will target some of the county council’s most used roads and residents are being reminded to take care.

Starting on Monday, June 18, Dorset Highways contractor – Eurovia – will treat large sections of ‘A’ roads with a premium surface dressing, protecting them from water damage and keeping them in a good condition for longer.

Roads lined up for work include A357 at Sturminster Newton, A348 Ringwood Road, A350 Sturminster Marshall, A354 Basan Hill, A352 Broadmayne, West Stafford Bypass, A352 Charminster, A37 Charminster and A356.

Work will be carried out off-peak between 9am and 4pm, with most sites using two-way lights and convoy working, where a vehicle - travelling at 10mph - will lead drivers through the works area.

Residents are advised to look out for advance signing on the road as surface dressing is extremely weather dependent and dates may be subject to change,
