A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing lobsters from a boat at Lulworth Cove.
Police were called by fisherman Joe Miller shortly after 11pm on Sunday after he noticed some men acting suspiciously. Police attended and arrested a 39-year-old Bournemouth man on suspicion of theft; he is assisting officers with their enquiries.
Mr Miller told the Echo that he had suffered a spate of losses this year of live lobster from locked cages on his boat at the cove, with hauls of up to 30 kilograms sometimes taken. "This was maybe the fourth time this year," he said. "And what they take is worth a couple of days' work."
