Due to urgent repairs to the railway between Woking and Surbiton the some of the London bound line is blocked.

Train services running through these stations may be delayed or revised. Disruption was originally expected until 3pm today but is now expected until the end of the day.

A spokesman for South Western Railway said: "We have been informed of a track defect in the Byfleet and New Haw area. Until this issue has been inspected and rectified all trains will be required to run non stop between Woking and Surbiton.

"This means that trains heading towards London Waterloo will be unable to call at West Byfleet, Byfleet and New Haw, Weybridge Walton-on-Thames, Hersham or Esher.

"Customers looking to travel to stations in between Woking and Surbiton should board a train towards Woking and from there board a train to Surbiton and change there for a train back towards Woking which will call at all the affected stations.

"For further information please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

"We are sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey today."
