Firefighters were called to a static caravan fire at a holiday park.
Both appliances from Bridport Fire Station were called out today just after 2pm to a report of a property fire in a static caravan at Freshwater Holiday Park.
On arrival the crew found that the fire had almost been extinguished, though two breathing apparatus were still required to enter the property with a hose reel jet and sky hooks.
Once inside, the crew removed the smouldering insulation, checked the voids and damped down the area.
Bridport Fire Station has confirmed that the fire was caused by an overheated battery in a remote control car.
Fortunately the owners were not in at the time of the fire.
