Weymouth Way has reopened in the wake of a two-vehicle crash.
Police were called shortly before 1 pm to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A354 Weymouth Way.
The incident occurred two hundred yards from Chaffeys Roundabout, shortly after the pedestrian lights. The road was closed in both directions between the Chaffeys and Manor roundabouts.
The two vehicles involved were a light blue Ford Focus and a white box van; the driver of the Ford was taken to hospital as a precaution, but was not understood to have sustained serious injuries.
Police reopened the road at around 2.15 pm.
Major congestion meanwhile affected swathes of Weymouth as a result of the road closure, which forced police to divert traffic to other thoroughfares.
