Problems at the new Dorset Council will be tackled 'head on' after it comes into being next April.

Finance officer Jason Vaughan says that problems which arose when Weymouth and Portland, West Dorset and North Dorset councils combined, were not caused by staff but the underlying processes of the way things were done.

“Three monthly performance reporting will be vital to the new council and if there is problems we will need to tackle them quickly and head on,” he told a meeting of the shadow overview and scrutiny committee.
