LIFEBOAT crews from Weymouth launched yesterday to help a yacht which had suffered a broken rudder.
Weymouth RNLI all-weather lifeboat launched at 4.05pm yesterday to go to the aid of a 24' yacht which was sailing 12 miles SW of Portland Bill.
The yacht, which had two people on board, was on passage from Wareham to Brixham in Devon at the time.
Having found that the yachts crew were fit and well, a tow was established and brought the vessel back to Weymouth, arriving shortly after 8.30 pm.
