A fisherman was airlifted to hospital after he fell at a disused quarry.
Swanage, St Albans and Wyke Coastguard Rescue Teams were alerted to the incident on Friday afternoon and were called to assist South Western Ambulance with a man who had fallen and injured himself at Winspit in Purbeck.
The man was believed to have a head injury.
Coastguards therefore agreed that due to the nature of the injuries and the remote location, the casualty should be flown to hospital and so Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 175 was summoned.
The teams helped make the casualty comfortable and then stretchered him to a more convenient position to load onto the aircraft before it flew to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.
