Two cars were involved in a crash on the A35 near Dorchester. 

Police confirmed a grey Nissan Micra and a black Vauxhall were involved on a crash on the Westbound carriage of the A35 Weymouth Road. 

The incident occurred near the Stinsford Roundabout. 

One lane was blocked due to the crash and traffic was said to be queueing to the A354 Monkton Hill turning. 

A spokesman for Dorset Police said the owners of the vehicles arranged their own recovery and the cars had now been cleared from the road. 

"We were just there to keep an eye on the scene and make sure everyone was safe," the spokesman said. 

The road has now been reopened and traffic has eased.
